I can’t breathe

So simple
In two three, out two three
In two three, out two three
Lungs threatened,
Body fouled
By virulence –
Spreading, filling,
Sucking life.
Nano second by nano second
Body shelled
 And we, the onlookers,
Watch and wait our turn.

George Floyd
Another name, another man,
Another emptying.
A human being imaged in the Divine
Like us
A man of dust returned there
By a knee.
How great our shame that
Inalienable rights
Again prove sectioned,

Where white clambers on black
Without mercy.

Two viruses
The difference –
One could be eradicated
By a vaccine.
